π²π½ πΊπΈ Iβm a Mexican-American based in Albuquerque, New Mexico (most of the time).
Iβm passionate about elegant, human-centric, and accessible design - technology is a tool for the vast human experience. I love learning about new disciplines and seeing how people accomplish their work. The more obscure, the better. I get excited about being able to collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other experts to create experiences that make peopleβs work easier (and maybe even enjoyable).
π©π»βπ» What my colleagues have to say about me:
βOne thing I always respected about Alicia is how serious she took her craft. She was always watching design trend videos, videos on how to improve various types of UX, videos on accessibility, etc. She is very passionate about what she does and it shows in her work.β
βAlicia was thrown into user interviews during her first few days at Dragos and I was always impressed with her curiosity and eagerness to jump headfirst into complex cybersecurity topics with subject matter experts. Her research skills, confidence, and adaptability in interviews (as well as her kindness as a teammate) are second to none.β
βAlicia just gave a STELLAR presentation to 40+ people on designing for experts - all designers at the USAF, and some members of the Navy, Space Force and select govt. contractors at the request of the USAF CXO!! Her presentation was on point, well rehearsed, confident, and incredibly well received. She held her own in answering community questions, and Colt (The CXO) was incredibly complimentary. Way to go Alicia!!!β
βDuring our time together at RS21, Alicia has proven to be an exceptional UX Designer, particularly in our collaboration on the Criminal Data Platform. Their ability to understand user needs and translate them into intuitive and visually appealing designs was instrumental in the success of the project, providing clear, well thought out targets for our developers to aim for. From wireframes to prototypes, Aliciaβs attention to detail and creative thinking consistently delivered results that benefited their cross-functional team and our client. I wholeheartedly recommend Alicia for any UX role and am confident that their blend of technical expertise and artistic vision will bring tremendous value to any team.β
βAlicia brilliantly translated a super complex topic into beautiful and intuitive layouts in a VERY short amount of time (while juggling 2-3 other LLNL projects simultaneously).β
